Information from the first IT Pro Orientation – Sept. 22, 2009

The New IT Pro Orientation is designed to provide an introduction to the range of campus resources available to new IT Pros. Because this is the first IT Pro Orientation, all Urbana campus IT Pros are invited for the entire event. To take advantage of the free lunch, registration must be complete by September 11, 2009.

10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – IT Discussion Tables

  • Echo360 – Lecture Capture Solutions, David Hess, College of Business, will discuss their implementation and how Echo360 helps them meet their instructional needs
  • Eaton Power – “An easy guide to Power Metering” and will be tailored to the language of the specific roles (IT vs. Maintenance, etc), so that it speaks to everyone involved
  • Dell – “Meet your Dell Team” – Introduction of new team members, and explain to the IT Pros how to utilize the additional Dell resources for their IT needs and challenges
  • NComputing – NComputing taps the unused capacity of today’s desktops so that it can be simultaneously shared by multiple users. Excellent for managing energy costs and budgets.
  • Cisco – Data center effectiveness, and Collaboration and VOIP in university environments
